The municipal corporation demolished a 40-year-old water tank with the help of explosives in central India's Madhya Pradesh on February 28. The incident took place in the Shivpuri district.

Visuals show the demolition of the water tank. An official gives a command followed by a loud blast. As the explosion ensues in the region, the water tank reduces to debris on the land. The structure crumbles and falls to the ground as a massive cloud of smoke and dirt engulfs the region.

The municipal corporation called for an engineer from Indore to lead the demotion project of the water tank. The expert, Sharad Sarvate, drilled 47 holes in the foundation of the structure and used a nitrating mixture to explode it.

The water tanker was at least 40 years old and had begun to disintegrate. Therefore, the municipal corporation demolished it and is aiming to build a new water tank with more holding capacity in its place.
