POLICE OFFICERS AT RISK FROM SMART MOTORWAY
Travelling north bound on the M1 the Matrix signs shows lane 1 closed , however it then shows land open and the police officer , highways officer and public still in the live lane , recovering the broken down vehicle.
The lane is marked as closed then open . Further up the motorway the police , public and highways agency are in the live lane.
