Scenes of helicopters being used to fight the Cape Town mountain fires
Various scenes where helicopters were used in combatting the Table Mountain fire which started on Sunday 18 April 2021. The fire started at Rhodes Memorial and quickly spread to surrounding areas. Mostert's Mill, the oldest working windmill in South Africa was completely destroyed by the fire.
The fire also destroyed the Jagger Library, which holds the archives of the Department of African Studies at the university of Cape Town. Hundreds of students had to be evacuated from residences at the university.
