An anti-government protest led by North Macdeonia's largest right-wing opposition party took place in Skopje on Saturday.

Protesters sang patriotic songs at the demonstration, backed by VMRO-DPMNE, ended in front of the Macedonian assembly.

Several Macedonian patriotic organisations staged an anti-govt protest in the capital of N. Macedonia, Skopje, singing patriotic songs and chanting “Never North, only Macedonia”, “Resignation”, “Freedom”, “Macedonia”.

On the demonstration which was backed by the largest opposition right-wing party VMRO-DPMNE and ended in front of the Macedonian Assembly, the protesters demanded freedom for the “defenders of the constitution”, several people convicted for their roles in a mob invasion of the parliament, back in 2017.

Additionally, the protestors demanded resignation of the government led by the prime minister Zoran Zaev, early elections, stopping the digitalization reform in the education process.

For the 27 April case, 16 people were sentenced to more than ten years in prison.
