Mount Sinabung in Indonesia erupted again on Sunday night June 6.

The footage filmed in the Binjai city, North Sumatra province on Monday morning (7 June) at 03.00, shows a car covered in ash smelling of sulfur.

Ateng DJ, owner of the red car, the filmer, said he left the house when he heard the sound of ash rain and found his car covered in ash smelling of sulfur.

Ateng suspected the ash was from the eruption of Mount Sinabung as its location from Mount Sinabung was about 70-80 kilometers away.

Mount Sinabung in Indonesia erupted on 23:50, June 6, 2021, but the height of the ash column wasn't observed as it was dark.

Local within a 5 kilometer radius of the mountain saw a lightning strike.

This eruption was recorded on the seismogram of the Mount Sinabung observation post with a maximum amplitude of 36 mm and a duration of ± 1 minute 25 seconds.

An observer of the Sinabung Volcano Observation Post, Armen Putra, told the media that the Sinabung eruption caused a rain of sand and stones around Kutarayat village, Naman Teran sub-district, Karo district and a thunderous sound was heard from Mount Sinabung.
