A steel bridge was washed away by a flooded river after heavy rainfall in southern China.

In the video, shot in the city of Nanping in Fujian Province on June 28, a steel bridge collapsed into the flooded Mayang river.

According to reports, the around 150-metre-long bridge was built in 2017.

The tree branches and woods from upstream piled up at the pier, causing the bridge to distort and collapse.

No casualties were reported.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
