Ongoing violence and murders in Cape Town's minibus taxi industry have left thousands of commuters across the city stranded and standing in queues for hours on Monday (July 19).

The city's main bus operator 'Golden Arrow Bus Services' stopped operating on certain routes after several of their busses were attacked and several of their drivers assaulted.

Ongoing violence and murders in Cape Town's minibus taxi industry has left thousands of commuters across the city stranded and standing in queues for hours. One commuter at the Cape Town bus terminus called on the national government and President Cyril Ramaphosa to intervene and end the violence.

Today the City's main bus operator, Golden Arrow Bus Services, stopped operations on certain routes after several of their busses were attacked and drivers assaulted. In one incident a bus was shot at with live ammunition.
