A time-lapse video recorded today (August 1) shows four cooling towers being demolished at the former Eggborough Power Station in North Yorkshire.

The station began producing electricity in 1967 at a capacity of 1960 megawatts, which powered over two million homes.

The station closed back in 2018 with plans to build a newer gas-powered station capable of producing 2500 megawatts of electricity.

The time-lapse was recorded between 4. 30 am and 9 am.
