This is the moment an overloaded jeepney bus crossed a raging river after heavy rain in the Philippines.

Footage shows the vehicle – packed with passengers, some sitting on the roof – struggling to cross the river due to the strong current in Tanay, Rizal on August 6.

After almost being stuck on the deeper part of the river, the jeep eventually made it to dry land despite experiencing some turbulence.

The Philippines and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
