A man was detained after smashing ATMs with a steel pipe in southern China.

The CCTV video, filmed in the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province on August 1, shows a topless man using a 1-metre-long steel pipe to smash the machines at a self-service area in the Agricultural Bank of China.

The man named Luo confessed that he damaged the ATMs after being arrested by the police on the same day.

Luo said he felt depressed and could not sleep after. Since he got emotional, he walked into a bank and smashed the ATMs

Luo has been detained by the police and the case is under further investigation.
