Five killed after driver in China smashes into crowd

Police have arrested a man who drove a car into pedestrians, killing five people and injuring 13 others in southern China.

Terrifying moment filmed in the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province on January 11 shows a BMW SUV speeding into a crowd walking across a road at Tianhe Road.

The driver was seen getting out of his car and throwing banknotes into the air shortly after the crash.

Police have detained the 22-year-old driver named Wen and the case is under further investigation.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
