India's exceptionally heavy monsoon season is continuing to cause havoc, as a major national highway is swept away in a landslide on Friday 13 August.

A section of National Highway 13, connecting East Siang and Siang districts in Arunachal Pradesh in northeastern India, completely collapsed in heavy rains.

The landslide was in the Sirki area, near Pasighat town.

Recently there have been several landslides and a bridge collapse, as the area experiences a particularly wet monsoon.

Last month in July also Heavy landslide occurred in Lower Siang district of Arunachal disrupted the road communication connectivity to six districts of Eastern Arunachal including international China .
Due to heavy rains over the last few days, a large section of the National Highway 52 connecting Pasighat to Maryang has been eroded into the Siang River. A large section of the road near Garu, 25 km from Likabali, is eroded.

Sangam bridge of Siang district was also collapsed disconnecting Upper Siang district of Arunachal.
