'Dramatic aerial footage taken by Kristina Raitciz offers a jaw-dropping look at the erupting Geldingadalir volcano.

Caught on camera by Kristina are the awe-inspiring scenes of the explosive activity occurring inside the crater and the lava river flowing down the volcano.

"The Geldingadalir volcanic eruption started in Iceland on March 19, 2021," the filmer stated. "It is now officially the longest eruption of the 21st century. I hiked to the volcano at night to fly my drone in darkness over the flowing lava and the crater itself and the view was simply mesmerizing."

Thanks to the unpredictable yet long-running eruption, the volcano site has become a tourism hotspot, with countless locals and foreigners visiting the area almost every single day to witness and record the flowing lava river.
