A worker at a wood depot in south India reported hearing a unusual noise of an animal on October 7, only to discover two lost marten kits.

The worker took the kits from the mill, located in Kanniyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, to a nearby Forest department office, as the kits' mother could not be found.

The pair were reportedly making noise either from hunger or calling for their mama.

Martens are a rare and endangered species in Tamil Nadu, and the kits received a health check from a vet, while a trap is set to catch the mama marten to reunite it with its babies.
