Heavy rains have inundated many parts of Kerala state, southern India, and have caused massive landslides.

The footage, filmed on October 17, shows an ongoing rescue operation in the Kottayam district, one of the most affected areas.

At least 24 people have lost their lives, and many are missing.

Floods aren't new to Kerala. In 2018, the state was hit by one of the worst floods. It left 400 people dead and one million others displaced.
