Italy's Mount Etna has erupted again, spewing a column of ash several kilometres high.

Impressive footage filmed on Saturday morning (October 23) shows the ash column, lava fountains and numerous pyroclastic flows in Valle del Bove, on the eastern side of the volcano.

The video was filmed from Serra La Nave, on the southwestern side of Etna, at an altitude of 1,800 meters, by members of Etna Walk, a team of tour guides and videographers who have been documenting eruptions there for 20 years.

They described the ash columns on Saturday as being an incredible 10km high.

"We talked with two volcanologists next to us, we think there was an eruptive column about 10 km high," Etna Walk said.
