This adorable baby buffalo has cemented his place in history by becoming the first of his kind born via IVF in India.

The cute male "Banni" buffalo was born on October 22nd in the Gir Somnath district of Gujarat.

According to authorities, six buffaloes became pregnant from 18 that were treated with IVF.

Of those six, only this one, known as Pado, reached full-term and was born.

The company behind the project are hoping IVF may create genetically superior livestock that can produce more milk.

According to authorities the breed had achieved six pregnancies from 18 recipient buffaloes at his farm, which were implanted with embryos through IVF technology, and the process was carried out by JKBovagenix of NGO JK Trust, a social initiative of Raymond Group. The embryos of Banni donors were implanted in 18 recipient buffaloes, from which one calf was born .
According to Shyam Zawar, the CEO of JK Trust The technology can help the country to multiply the population of genetically superior buffaloes resulting in higher milk yield .
