Pekanbaru - Lisa (48), a Sumatran elephant, gave birth to a female elephant in a flower hole, Teso Nilo National Park (TNTN), Lubuk Kembang Bungo Village, Ukui District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau. This was confirmed by the Head of the TNTN Center, Heru Sumantoro, when interviewed by the media on Friday (01/09/2023), afternoon. "The calf was born on August 31 2023 at 05.00 WIB. This calf is the 4th calf of the elephant Lisa." he said. Heru explained that the elephant calf was born at Camp Elephants Flying Squad TNTN normally with the mother and baby in good health. "The BBKSDA team has carried out health checks on the mother and baby elephant," he added. Previously, Lisa gave birth to 3 elephant calves named Imbo, Rimbani, Ryu. The birth of Sumatran elephant calves in the TNTN elephants flying squad, this is a fact that the TNTN forest area is an important habitat in contributing to increasing the population of Sumatran elephants.
