This is the spectacular moment a meteor streaked through the night sky in eastern China.

Footage recorded by the Qingdao Aishan Observatory shows the bolide falling across Qingdao City, Shandong province 20 minutes past midnight on November 15.

The agency said: ‘The bolide burst and flashed several times during the process, and it’s peak brightness reached -14. It is part of the Taurid meteor group.’

The Taurid meteor shower is caused by debris from the Comet Encke hitting and burning up in the Earth’s atmosphere. They are usually seen between mid-October and mid-November.
