Firefighters rescued a dog trapped on a cliff in southern China.

Heroic video filmed in the city of Chenzhou in Hunan Province on January 1 shows a fireman tied by a safe rope climbing down a cliff to approach a dog and then carrying it back to safety.

According to reports, the dog was taken to the place to play by its owner’s friend and accidentally fell down the cliff. Since the person realised that they could not save the dog, they left their contact number and left.

Other tourists then called firefighters to rescue the dog.

As the dog’s owner or the owner’s friend never appeared, several tourists decided to adopt the dog.

1月1日下午2点39分，有群众报警称：郴州市高椅岭背山处，有一条小狗失足快掉下山了！郴州市白露塘消防救援站接到报警后，出动一台消防车6名消防员赶赴现场救助。
消防救援人员到达现场后发现小狗正趴在山崖中上位置，幸好有个凹陷处可以起到缓冲作用，消防员立即做出对策，准备用绳索等设备固定好一名消防员，再让消防员攀爬下去把小狗抱上来。
十分钟后小狗被安全救上来，据了解，这只小狗是狗主人的朋友带上来游玩的。小狗失足后，朋友发现自己无法救助，随即找人留下自己的联系方式便早早离开，其余游客看不下去才选择报警。从始至终狗主人与他的朋友也没有现身。最后，几名游客经过商议决定领养小狗。（视频由湖南台提供）
