Heroic firefighters rescued a man in his 60s who got buried in mud after a landslide hit Liuyang City in southern China on July 10.

The video shows firemen using tools and their barehands to dig the mud away and take the elderly man out of it.

Since the old man became trapped in the middle of a muddy area and firefighters could not approach him, they smashed a hole in the wall to let the mud drain away first.

They then used their bare hands to bring the elderly man to safety.

The elderly man was sent to hospital for treatment, reports said.

7月10日上午9点2分，湖南省浏阳市集里消防站接指挥中心调度称，位于浏阳市荷花街道涂家冲发生一起山体滑坡困人事故，得知情况后集里消防站立即赶赴现场处置。 集里消防站消防员赶到现场时，老人整个人只剩头部露在泥潭外，动弹不得。民房靠近山体一侧，已经堵满了泥石，老人被困中间地带，两边的救援人员都无法靠近，时间紧急，救人要紧，随后，消防救援人员与派出所民警找来锤子，协力将墙体砸出一个直径一米多的洞，淤积的泥水成功从墙洞引流出去。 救援过程中，泥潭中的水位也在不断升高，老人所困的位置逐渐下陷，消防员赶忙加快处置，为避免二次伤害消防员徒手开挖。 最终在当天上午的9点58分，老人被顺利的救出，随后在消防员和附近村民的帮助下，老人被抬上了救护车，送往医院诊治。（视频由湖南台提供）
