Locals evacuated from buildings as a magnitude 6.6 earthquake jolted the Cyprus region on Tuesday, January 11.

Footage shows people staying in a parking lot in Lefke town after the quake was felt.

The earthquake struck 48km west-northwest of Polis town in Cyprus island at 1:07 UTC, the United States Geological Survey said. It was measured at a focal depth of 19.6km.
