This is the shocking moment a runaway cow dashed across a road into oncoming cars in Cambodia.

The frantic animal was seen stranded in the traffic on a busy road as it tried to cross to the other side in Phnom Penh on February 24.

However, halfway through the opposite lane, the lost animal was almost hit by an oncoming car which fortunately was able to hit the brakes. A kind scooter rider was also seen trying to guide the animal to the other side before the near-miss happened.

The driver Paul Yang said: 'Luckily I wasn't driving fast that's why the cow was safe. I could have been hurt too if I slammed the large animal. I hope other drivers will be careful with animal safety on the road too.'

No one was reported hurt or damaged in the incident. The cow was taken by local authorities who searched for the cow's owner.
