This is the terrifying moment three aggressive Staffordshire Bull Terriers broke into a family’s home while a toddler was playing.

The three large dogs almost attacked two boys aged six and eight after trespassing into the house in Kanchanaburi province, western Thailand, on March 22.

CCTV footage shows how youngsters ran for their lives as the three Staffies charged through the mesh door to chase after a kitten that was later found in the garden where it had been savaged by the mutts.

Angry father Santi Kasinturam, 29, took the video to the police to report the dogs' owner, a Buddhist monk who lives at a nearby temple.

He said: ‘The three Staffordshire Bull Terriers belong to a monk. I complained to him about his pets as they could have hurt my sons but he refused to take responsibility and said that the dogs meant no harm.

‘I have no intention of putting the monk in trouble. I only want relevant agencies to check whether a monk raising ten dangerous Pitbulls on temple grounds is appropriate or not. The monk should be told to take care of his dogs properly as they could have killed my sons.’

Santi also informed the abbot about the incident. The abbot claimed that the Staffies' owner had been asked to pay close attention to the dogs earlier, but did not listen.

Monk and dog owner Phra Sontaya Chanalert, 60, said: ‘I raise a total of nine dogs. None of my dogs are violent. You can see for a fact that around the dog cage there are chickens, birds, and goats. My dogs never once bit them.

‘At the time of the incident, I was showering my dog and a cat showed up. They followed their instinct and chased the kitten. I called out to them but it was too late. They climbed through the gate and went to the house.’

Phra Sontaya accepted that it was his dogs' mistake. He promised to move his pets to a different place and would leave monkhood if nobody is there to take care of them.

He said: ‘I have been raising these dogs for eight years and been a monk for nine years. Whoever wants to help me take care of them can visit the temple and contact me.’

The muscular Staffordshire Bull Terrier descended from fighting dogs, but have been bred to be milder and more affectionate companions. Because of their history and strong aggressive instinct, Staffies must be properly socialised and trained by their owners.
