Drone footage captured the deserted streets in Shanghai as the city remains in a COVID-19 lockdown.

Video filmed on March 28 shows the empty streets of Shanghai's financial district - Lujiazui.

A group of residents were seen queuing to get a COVID-19 test in a residential community.

Local authorities have decided to divide Shanghai in half for a two-part lockdown, using the Huangpu River as a dividing point.

Districts on one side will be locked down and tested between 28 March and 1 April, the other between 1 April and 5 April.

The government has set up 6,300 temporary sampling sites and organised about 17,000 workers to take the samples. They will be working all day long to take the samples from the residents.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
