Pilots battle against 55mph winds to land at Birmingham Airport, England

This is the gripping moment wind gusts of up to 55mph meant many pilots struggled to land their planes first time at the West Midlands airport.

Strong winds have hit England on Thursday making air travel during the Easter Holiday’s treacherous.

A Tui flight from Malta to Birmingham had to go around on its first approach before circling over Warwickshire as a weather front moved in. The plane eventually landed around 15 minutes later.

A Logan Air flight from the Isle of Man had to come into land sideways as the strong crosswind buffeted the fuselage.
