Thousands of earthworms emerged around a family's house after heavy rain in Thailand.

Surprised locals woke up to the creepy crawlies massing around their property in Tak province, Thailand on April 19.

The creatures showed up following a downpour the night before, crawling beneath cars, outside holiday homes, and cornfields in the area.

Footage shows the grey worms crawling on wet soil and gathering in clumps like black spaghetti pasta.

Tourists and villagers who slept in the villas were stunned to discover the worms forming wriggling clumps on the ground. They said they had never come across so many earthworms before.

Villager Saokum Yakumlue said: 'This could be a sign that something strange will be happening soon, just like the big flood last year. For now, I will have to clean up the area.'
