Ukraine's National Guard has released footage Friday (April 22) showing a downed Russian helicopter, the Ka-52 "Alligator."

The Ka-52 Alligator is an all-weather attack helicopter operated by the Russian Air Force, the rival to the American Apache attack helicopter, and boasts a top speed of 196 mph, an 18,000-foot ceiling, and a 683-mile range.

Reportedly, the helicopter was destroyed Thursday in Ukrainian territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Another helicopter was reported to have seen fleeing the area.
