Kind villagers rescued a stray dog with a metal tin stuck on its head.

The distressed four-year-old pooch was spotted wandering aimlessly in front of a mosque in Chonburi province, Thailand on May 19.

Residents tried to help the dog but it was too scared of people and would run away when approached so they called the local rescue team for assistance.

When the team arrived, they chased after the pooch until it was cornered on the roadside. A rescuer then used a bolt cutter to tear the can and free the dog’s head.

Rescuer Wicha Chindanil said: ‘The dog might have been stuck because of the sweet smell inside the can. There was sweet syrup in it.’

The dog ran away after it was freed and was given food by the villagers.
