The lid of a water tank flew off a cement mixer truck after exploding due to high pressure.

The projectile was flung from the heavy vehicle driving along a road outside the Phai Kaew Wittaya School in Chachoengsao province, Thailand, on May 19. It reportedly hit three high-voltage cable hangers before landing on the roof of a warehouse in the residential area.

Lorry driver Samart Deeglum, 26, was also on the road at the time of the blast, and said he was heading to Bang Khla District when he heard a loud explosion.

He said: 'I heard a thunderous sound so I parked and looked over. I was shocked to see that the water tank lid flew off from the explosion of the high-pressure water tank.'

More than 200 metres of the road had reportedly been sprayed by water from the tank.

A shocked villager who went out of the house to find the source of the noise said: 'When I came out, I saw scraps all over the ground and also saw that the house roof has been damaged.'

Police Lieutenant Colonel Somyot Chantalert said: 'We have already recorded the incident. The driver has been asked to inform his employer so we can take legal action. His employer will be taking care of the damage.'

No injuries or casualties from the accident were reported.
