Firemen removed a keyring that was stuck on a bored bachelor's penis for five days in Indonesia.

The officers were called by the family of young man Roni, 20, who had attached the item to his genitals in a sexual experiment gone wrong but then could not remove it.

Roni's worried parents - whom he had confided in following his mishap - said they previously sought help from a clinic but were referred to the fire station.

Staff visited the home to find Roni in pain on July 7 in Serang Regency, Banten province. He told them that he was 'bored' because he did not have a girlfriend.

Roni said: 'I'm bored staying at home with my parents. I don't have a girlfriend so I was just fooling around by myself.'

The rescuers used a cutting implement commonly used to remove rings stuck on fingers to slowly pry off the foreign object squeezing Roni's phallus. However, they had difficulty since he kept writhing around during the delicate operation.

Ade Sofyan, head of the fire department at the Serang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency, said it took them two to three hours to detach the ring as they were being careful not to injure the young man.

The square-shaped accessory was allegedly stuck to his member for five days, cutting off circulation and causing his penis to ooze pus due to infection.

Ade said: 'The family was reluctant to ask for help. They wanted to come to our office after being invited by a neighbor who felt sorry for Roni.

'Previously, he was taken to the clinic, but the clinic advised his family to come to us. We are grateful that the rescue efforts were successful.'
