This is the terrifying moment a tyre exploded and hit the ceiling - throwing a mechanic against the ground.

Garage owner Purinat Kawira, 31, was inflating a tractor's tyre while his colleague sat and watched in Ayutthaya, Thailand, on July 19.

However, after a moment the tyre exploded with a loud noise in the garage. The force of the explosion threw Purinat's body against the floor.

CCTV shows how the tyre sprung up like a rock and hit the roof before falling against the ground.

Purinat put his hands on the stomach and laid still as he was not able to stand up from pain.

Purinat said: 'A customer came with the tractor to change the two tires. It looked very old.

'I had no problem inflating the first tyre but the second one exploded. I didn't have time to run away when it happened so my elbow hit the ground hard. I had two stitches for the wound after it happened.'
