Elderly Chinese people rest in supermarket to escape heatwave
Elderly people rested in a supermarket to escape the heatwave in southern China.
Video filmed in the city of Chongqing on August 19 shows elderly people sitting on plastic stools in the isles or laying on the shelves in the store.
According to the supermarket owner Mr Liu, since the weather was hot and some elderly people did not have air-conditioners at home, they came to the supermarket to cool down after 7:00 pm every day.
Temperatures in the city reached highs of 41 degrees Celsius on August 19.
