A woman quarantining could only watch via a camera feed as her pet dog ripped apart her new house in northwest China.

Video filmed in Ürümqi in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on August 23 shows a 2-month-old husky named Arthur trying to tear down a cardboard box and then running around the house with rubbish scattered across the floor.

A pandemic worker in protective clothing was seen going to the flat to feed Arthur.

According to the husky's owner Ms Yang, someone living in the same building as her has tested positive, so she had to be quarantined in an isolation point.

Since Yang's husband was quarantined in his company as well, Yang prepared 10 days' worth of food for Arthur and put lots of stuff into the three bedrooms to stop the pooch from damaging them.

However, when Yang checked the camera on the second day of the quarantine, she found Arthur had opened the bedrooms' doors and torn apart lots of items.

Yang and her husband got married on July 1 and moved into their new house recently. So Yang was upset about Arthur damaging their new place.

Yang said to Xinjiang Television that she still has 20 days left in quarantine. She will check the camera at home every day and will clean her house when she returns home.

没有想到的是，隔离的第二天，我通过手机查看家里的监控视频，发现几个卧室的门都被那只哈士奇给打开了，当时那一瞬间我就有些崩溃，想着这下这新房里的物品，估计都要被这只哈士奇给糟蹋完了。”杨女士称，她和丈夫没有教过这只哈士奇开门，哈士奇可能是在家里想找她，自己将门打开。
9月13日，杨女士介绍，她现在隔离还没结束，已经有20天了，每天都会通过手机查看家里的监控视频，看看哈士奇有无在家捣乱，小区的志愿者每天也会上门给哈士奇喂食物，等隔离结束回家将认真收拾卫生。（视频由新疆台提供）
