A trio of vehicles dumped into canals across the West Midlands has left the Canal & River Trust with a bill of £30,000.

Three cars were dumped into canals in Dudley, Tipton and Solihull within a week.

Footage from November 14 shows a Range Rover Discovery floating in the canal near Furnace Parade, Tipton.

Several people came to look into the problem, where the vehicle was half submerged and a small oil and fuel slick was being contained by the lock doors.

A canal lock allows boats to go up or down hills safely. This canal lock is now closed until the vehicle can be removed.

The Canal and River Trust said: "Factory Lock No 3 on the New Main Line Canal in #Tipton is closed as a car is in the lock.

"We're working on a plan to get this removed as quickly as possible.

"There are no signs of pollution yet but we will continue to monitor."
