An out-of-control pickup truck crashed into an electricity pole at a busy junction in Thailand.

The silver vehicle cut through oncoming cars from the adjacent lanes to try and beat the red light in Prachin Buri province on November 10.

It then drifted across the road and slammed onto the pole before flipping to its side.

Dashcam footage shows the pickup truck spinning out of control on the intersection where dozens of cars are waiting.

Driver Treepet Promyabon who was on the other lane when it happened said: ‘We were listening to music, it was a regular day. Then the car came bursting from the opposite lane. My friend who was sitting next to me was so scared.

‘I hope everyone would be careful when hitting the roads. It's not worth it to be impatient and hurt yourself and others.'

Treepet added rescuers were called to the scene and took the driver to the hospital while police investigated the incident.

The junction, being a busy route in the district, experienced slow traffic for at least two hours due to the incident.
