While for most pet owners, introducing a new baby to a dog can be stressful, Mostly, a 3-year-old doodle breed dog, immediately took to his new sibling.

A hilarious clip shows the smart pooch rocking the cot in a bid to get the baby off to sleep, with a joking caption: “When you used to be the baby but now you have responsibilities.”

Owner, Aranzazu Rodriguez was thrilled that Mostly had taken so well to the change after welcoming her daughter in June 2022.

The now-eight-month-old proved a hit with all family members, especially Mostly.

“Mostly’s always been very sweet and careful with the baby since we brought her home,” Aranzazu said.

“At the beginning, he didn’t know what she was and how to interact with her, so he was very mindful of her space.

“He would bring me his favourite toy every time I was nursing her to stay with me and keep us company.

“These days he loves to lay down just next to her and it’s the sweetest thing!

“Baby has been discovering him lately so it’s so fun to see her trying to reach for him and try to ‘pet him’.

“Ever since we introduced solids to baby, Mostly is her best friend.”

She shared the sweet clip on TikTok, where it garnered 1.5 million views and over 187,000 likes.
