An explosion, believed to have been caused by firecrackers, occurred in Pulosari Hamlet, Sukosari Village, Kasembon District, Malang Regency, East Java on Saturday (11/3/2023), resulting in one fatality. The incident took place at Hasan's house at 6:30 PM and caused severe damage to at least three houses in the surrounding area.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was very loud and accompanied by a thunderous sound. After the explosion, the fire quickly spread and damaged three nearby houses. One house was even destroyed and leveled to the ground.

Firefighters and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene to help extinguish the fire and provide first aid to the victims. However, rescue efforts were hampered by the severe damage to the houses affected by the explosion.

After the situation was declared safe, the police conducted an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion. There is no official statement yet regarding the owner of the firecrackers that caused the explosion. Local residents are urged to increase their vigilance regarding the use of firecrackers to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
