Watch this chef make hyper-realistic beetle larvae candies.

Parichart Nakwek rolls sweet milky dough into the shape of a bug and uses a sculpting tool to mimic the segments on an insect's back in Pathum Thani province.

The talented dessert shop owner then skewers each chubby piece on a stick and sprays them with brown colouring.

When she achieves the right shade, she then hand paints its tip with a brush and edible ink before coating them with sugar glaze as a finishing touch.

The sweet snacks have become a hit with locals who love munching on the candies resembling bugs.

Chef Parichart said: 'It's fun making them one by one. I make all of these by hand. A lot of work goes into them so they look realistic.'

Aside from insect candies, the chef also sells cute miniature fruits and vegetable platter that are popular in parties.
