Green snake slithers on Thai king's portrait hanging on wall inside family's home
A green tree snake slithered on a Thai king's portrait hanging on a wall inside a family's home.
Footage shows the 4ft-long serpent clinging to the wooden frame of King Bhumibol's picture in Samut Sakhon province, Thailand on May 6.
The creature was caught by resident Kae Phaplern's husband and released into the wild.
Kae said she was excited when they saw the snake because it could be a sign of luck, with many Siamese natives still holding unusual superstitions.
She said: ‘My husband and I joined the lottery with our house number. We really believe that it was very fortunate.'
