Dark dust devil tornado touches down close to airport in Japan
A dark dust devil tornado touched down close to an airport in Japan today.
Video shows the twister's funnel descending to the ground as storm clouds blanketed the sky in Obihiro City, Hokkaido on May 30.
The Obihiro Weather Station confirmed detecting a 'tornado-like phenomenon' around two miles north of Obihiro Airport.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or casualties, local media citing police reported.
However, the Obihiro Taisho Agricultural Cooperative said farmers' crops and equipment were damaged after the tornado hit.
Flights to Haneda Airport were also delayed by an hour, according to the Obihiro Airport Office.
