Dramatic footage, captured by a British tourist, has emerged of the moment frightened customers were evacuated from the Pullman Hotel in Paris, France on Saturday after a false alarm.

The video, captured at the hotel's restaurant on Saturday evening, shows the moment terrified diners and hotel customers fled the building believing an attack to be underway - with some screaming and crouching on the floor.

The video was shot by Jono Bate, a 24-year-old IT manager from Manchester, UK, who was visiting the city over the weekend as it was shaken by terror attacks.

Writing online about his experience, Bate said: "I was enjoying a meal in the restaurant in the Pullman Hotel in Paris on Saturday evening, the evening after the terror attacks at the Stade de France, Bataclan Theatre and other venues across the city.

"Armed Police and Army personnel swarmed the area around the hotel, and we were evacuated to the basement".

According to local reports heavily armed police were seen entering the hotel and nearby areas cordoned off, but the incident turned out to be a false alarm.
