A quick-thinking man rescued a dog lifted up by an elevator as its leash got trapped in doors in China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Qingdao in Shandong Province on June 10, shows a dog being left out of an elevator after its owner holding a leash attached to it went inside.

After the elevator doors closed, it began to ascend and lifted the dog off the ground.

A quick-thinking man named Wang sprang to grab the leash and swiftly unhooked the clasp to free the pet.

Wang said upon exiting the elevator, he noticed his faithful companion continuously staring at him. Realising the imminent danger the dog faced, Wang hurriedly rushed to the dog’s rescue, releasing it from the leash.

Both Wang and the dog were shaken by the close call. In the chaos, Mr Wang threw his phone away but thankfully, it was not damaged.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
