Escaped ostrich sprints through streets in southern China
An ostrich was spotted sprinting across busy streets in southern China.
The video was filmed in the city of Zhongshan in Guangdong Province on June 13.
According to reports, the ostrich was cornered by traffic police in a factory after it had run through two townships.
On the morning of June 13, staff from the Torch Development Zone team of the Zhongshan Traffic Police Detachment responded that the ostrich had escaped from a nearby farm. It has now been captured and returned to its owner.
It was found out that the ostrich is a farm-bred bird, kept for viewing. It is usually housed near a fishpond by Yuchong West Street in a local community, enclosed within a wire fence.
Due to a door that was not properly secured, the ostrich seized the opportunity to make its daring escape.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
