Officials of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) began restoration work in western India's Gujarat after Cyclone Biparjoy wreaked havoc in the state.

This happened in Lakhpat town of Kutch district on June 16

Visuals showed the NDRF officials at work as they cleared out the roads which got blocked with trees that were uprooted in the cyclone. One of the officials was seen climbing up a fallen tree and sawing away its branches in a bid to remove it easily. A lot of roads were blocked and several electric poles were destroyed which led to power outages in over 1000 villages. Work to restore power is being carried out by the Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd.

In a tragic development, a father and son, trying to save their goats which were stuck in a flooded ravine, lost their lives in the cyclone. The devastating cyclone left 22 people injured and several animals dead.
