A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Myanmar on Monday, with the tremors rattling neighbouring Thailand

Lights in homes and offices in the capital Bangkok shook when the quake hit 130 kilometres southeast of Pyapon town in Myanmar on June 19.

The United States Geological Survey said the earthquake struck at a depth of 5.3 kilometres at 1:40 UTC.

The agency designated a green alert for the earthquake indicating 'low likelihood of casualties and damage.'

There have been no immediate reports of deaths or injuries.
