A massive sandstorm engulfed a city in northwestern China due to convective weather conditions.

Video filmed in Hami City in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on July 2 shows the clear sky being suddenly shrouded in a swirling blanket of sand and dust, creating a surreal and ominous atmosphere. .

The towering sand wall reached up to a hundred meters high, steadily advancing towards the city from the distance. The rapidly approaching wall of sand obscured visibility to such an extent that even nearby buildings became barely discernible, plunging the surroundings into darkness.
