Coast guards rescued a family on a distressed vessel taking on water around 30 miles off of Baffin Bay, Texas on Saturday, July 8.

Watchstanders of the Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call at around 12:35 pm that the boat with two children and two adults was filling up with water as the ship's pumps could not keep up with the flooding.

A helicopter crew was dispatched, with a rescue swimmer being lowered to dewater the vessel. The swimmer was then hoisted back up, and the rescued invidividuals were safely escorted back to Packery Channel Park.

There were no injuries reported.

Lieutenant JG Bradly Ragan, the operations unit coordinator at Sector Corpus Christi, said in a statement: 'In today's rescue, the combined efforts of our Coast Guard assets, from the command center orchestrating the response to the boatcrew and two aircrews executing a flawless rescue, showcased the power of teamwork.

'This synchronization of efforts ensured the rescue of two adults and two children from a vessel taking on water, a testament to our unwavering commitment to saving lives at sea.'
