STORYLINE:
 
A train loaded with 55 containers departed from the Nanning International Railway Port in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Thursday.
 
The train will arrive at Almaty, Kazakhstan via the Alashankou Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
 
Nanning has launched 22 China-Europe freight trains as of Thursday this year, delivering 2,420 TEUs of goods, up by 214 percent and 261 percent respectively compared with last year.

"After the regular operation of China-Europe freight trains this year, our company basically launched 2 to 3 trains every month. The traffic volume is constantly increasing during the time. Thanks to the short (transportation time), and low cost, the (transportation of) goods is relatively stable and safe. To a large extent, it helps enhance the competitiveness of our products, and we have won recognition from customers. It has created opportunities for us to expand (overseas) markets."
 
In July last year, Guangxi and Xinjiang improved customs clearance efficiency for China-Europe freight trains and reduce the travel time of the goods by 1 to 2 days.

"We gave priorities to the allocation of sufficient box source, loading and departure, so as to open up a green channel for enterprises and ensure convenient and fast cross-border cargo transportation. This year, the China-Europe freight trains from Nanning have been increased from one train per month to two or three trains per month."
