A group of policemen and local residents were caught on body-worn camera footage trying to catch the large bird as it darted across a field.

After a spirited chase, involving its owner as well, the group successfully cornered and wrangled the emu, returning it unharmed to its local sanctuary.

The Columbus Division of Police expressed their amusement in a short statement, thanking the officers involved for their help in resolving the "‘emusing call."
